AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is the captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also the co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. After graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her debut in professional football and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and was the youngest player in the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final game against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal. She was the second player in the United States to score 21 assists and 20 goals for 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player in the country to score 20 goals in a single year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
